Some mechanical differences are more pronounced when compared to the B8 vs. B8.5 S5 since some of the tech got put in the B8.5 S5. There are some other things that are software voodoo, underbody panels for aero, etc.

Apr 19, 2016 · The b8 uses a single pass front heat exchanger and the B8.5 uses a dual pass front heat exchanger. I bet they are pretty close in performance. Until you add an aftermarket unit like your AMS then the B8 would technically have more cooling than a B8.5. As someone else posted I am curious if anyone ever measured that.

Jan 31, 2018 · B8.5 and B9 are such different animals, IMO it's hard to even have a fair comparison. IMO if you want a much more refined vehicle with virtual cockpit, than the B9 is the way to go. The B8.5 tho does not feel outdated and like VV said the ergonomics are much more intuitive/convenient on the B8.5 vs. the B9.
